The Lake Ranco is located in the South of Chile, in one of its most spectacular river and lake systems. The region contains a variety of outstanding natural resources including lakes, islands, rivers, streams, hot springs, volcanoes, and beautiful valleys crossed by rivers that provide excellent trout fishing. All of these surrounded by snow capped mountains and virgin forests.

Ulmo is a beautiful 'always green' tree that can reach up to 40m. of height, and its trunk, in the base, about 2m. of diameter. It appears in the zone between Araucania and Chiloe, especially in the mountain range of the Coast up to 700m over the sea level. It prefers humid lands that are rich in humus.

This typical Chilean tree is frequently associated with the Oak tree, Tepa tree, Timeo tree or Coigue tree.
