Noro Kids Ref: 799
Noro Kids by Jane Ellison, a collection of hand knits designed primarily with new knitters in mind, but also suitable for returning knitters who want a small garment to get started with and finally for more experienced knitters who just want a weekend project.

The great thing about Noro Yarns is that it is fun to use different yarns with the patterns. For best results it is always best to use the yarns specified but for those who are aware that using different yarns will change the look and feel of a garment, then substituting yarns is simple.

The most important is to find another yarn that gets the same tension. This doesn't mean using the same needles as specified in the pattern but getting the same tension, then the garment will be the same size as mentioned in the pattern.

For example Aya has 135metres per 50g ball so if the pattern asks for 3 balls then it requires 405 metres of yarn. If you intend to use Shirakaba as a substitute, this yarn has 124metres per 50g ball so we need 405/124 balls or 3.3 so you will need to buy 4 balls to make the pattern.
